ABC's of Ms. Optie
A is for aunt! I have a nephew and a niece! My nephew, Sam, was born in October 2011. My niece, Evelyn, was born in February 2012.
B is for Bears (I love to watch the Chicago Bears!)
C is for Christmas, which is my favorite holiday.
D is for daughter. I am the youngest of 3. I have two older sisters, Suzanne and Jane. Suzanne lives in Georgia, and Jane lives in Illinois. Suzanne is a 2nd grade teacher, and Jane is a librarian. I love spending time with them whenever I can.
E is for Eastern Illinois University. The college I attended for my bachelor's degree. I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in general sciences (biology and physics).
F is for friends and family. I love to spend time with them.
G is for giraffe, which is my favorite animal.
H is for Honduras. I went there in the summer of 2009! I went to a place called Isla Roatan,and it was beautiful.
I is for ice cream. Can you believe I don't really like it?
J is for Jetta, the kind of car I drive.
K is for knowledge. Something I hope to build for my students every day.
L is for Live, Love, Laugh, and Learn. Four words I try to live by every single day.
M is Master's. I completed my Master's degree in spring 2011. I received my degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.
N is for nice. Something I teach my students to be.
O is for Optie, which is my last name.
P is for peanut butter. I love peanut butter on toast, crackers, waffles, and bagels!

R is for readers. I hope to help my students to be good readers!
S is for Snickers! One of my favorite sweet treats.
T is for TEAM, what we are as a class combined. We work on being a team every day. We have the word TEAM up in our classroom to remind us of how important it is to work as a team.
U is for understanding...something I try to be all the time.
V is for violin. I took violin lessons for a few months when I was younger.
W is for winners, which is what we ALL are in Kindergarten.
X is for my X-CELLENT students!
Y is for yellow. My favorite color!
Z is for zoo, where we will go on a field trip!
